Varatouch extends their analog Nav Disc HID design portfolio less
than 1mm in height-new functionality-fully customizable
This unique solution adds easy integration into next generation mobile
phones
El Dorado Hills, CA --October 4, 2005-- Varatouch, a leading designer
of innovative input devices for consumer products, introduced today a
new nav disc reference design that is less than 1mm in height, and
fully customizable in shape and size allowing for increased
flexibility in industrial design for handset products.. The VND-2XX
nav disc design was created with Varatouch's Vsense technology used to
enable solutions for implementing low cost, full analog control, low
profile input devices.
The solution allows for a very simple mechanical and electrical layout
using standard industry processes to create a true analog, 360 degree,
variable rate, positioning device in a very small space. In addition
to having a very thin form factor, the reference design will enable
designers to take advantage of the long life, low power consumption,
instant wake-up, electro-illumination back lighting and all the design
flexibility that this analog technology offers.
"With the growing trend of music, games and multimedia features built
into phones, new input solutions are critical. With customization
options and easy integration our analog nav discs will help take
mobile products to the next level," says Craig Vachon, CEO of
Varatouch.
"Varatouch's analog HID technology is enabling the convergence of many
advanced applications," says Jackie Choi, President of Hankuk Polytech
Corporation. "Full analog control, design flexibility and the small
form factor of this technology is exactly what our customers have been
asking for."
