Atrua Technologies, Inc. Names New Vice President of Engineering

Mobile Phone Industry Veteran to Lead Development of Next Generation Fingerprint Recognition Products for Mobile Devices

Campbell, Calif., Dec. 2, 2003 - - Atrua Technologies, Inc., a privately held company and leading provider of fingerprint recognition technology for mobile devices, announced today the appointment of mobile phone industry veteran Dave Weigand to lead its next generation product development as its new vice president of engineering.

Mr. Weigand brings to Atrua over eighteen years of technical and engineering management experience focused on the development of advanced mobile phones and wireless technologies. Most recently, he led National Semiconductor's cellular chipset development as the director of Cellular Chipset Architecture and Engineering Group. In this role, he managed global design teams in chipset architecture along with hardware and software systems engineering resulting in the worlds' most highly integrated GSM/GPRS system chipset, which was introduced earlier this year. Prior to National Semiconductor, Mr. Weigand was with Motorola's Cellular Subscriber Group where he was responsible for the design and development of cellular architectures for GSM and Japanese cellular handsets.
